Well folks, today's the big night! The roadshow crew this year is fantastic. I just finished watching the video footage from Dress Rehearsal last night and they're so great. Not that I'm biased...They've worked really hard and I'm excited to watch them on stage tonight! This year the theme of the young adults' Roadshow is "Around the World in 80 Minutes". Each congregation was given a different area of the world to create a skit for. Our ward was assigned the Polynesian Islands, and our skit grew into a spoof on Johnny Lingo. (With special appearances by Lilo and Stitch.)

I was 100% completely and totally in love with my Halloween costume this year. I went as a pinata. A llama pinata. So basically the best thing ever. 

 It took FOREVER to finish, but I think it turned out well! There is even a secret pocket in the front that held candy, which I handed out to people who could correctly identify what I was. Or people that I just liked.

 I spent Halloween night studying for a midterm that had been cruelly scheduled for the next day. And also carving jack-o-lanterns during my breaks.

 

And then we kept our pumpkins out until they slowly started to decay until it looked like my Minion was winking at me. The end.

(Brief pause to appreciate that brilliant yet unintentional bit of alliteration.)

Thoughts and dates and ideas whiz around in there like crazed flying keys. If I didn't know better, I'd say that I had ADHD.

Lately I've been going through a hard season in life. The ideas are cloudy. My memory is often hazy. The thoughts don't seem to make any sense. Every day has been stumbling around in this hypothetical fog. You can still tell when there is light, the way that I can still tell there are happy things around me, but it's way harder to recognize. 

This week is CRAY. Papers to write, songs to memorize, school to attend, 2 part-time jobs to manage, concerts to go to, appoinments to keep, meetings to participate in, Roadshow to organize, choir to be at... Like, it's one of those weeks that I'm probably going to need a week just to recover from. My life is, I guess, a smidge busy. That's why it was such a surprise to me this morning when I woke up and realized that for the first time in awhile, I didn't feel overwhelmed. Despite my insane schedule, and despite the things I'm dealing with, today my mind is wonderfully clear. It feels SO good. I hope this feeling stays for awhile.
