Show and Tell: My Gallery Wall
Yeah, yeah, I know. Every white person has a gallery wall. Whatever.
One of the big reasons I have a gallery wall is that I inherited this room with an impressive amount of holes in the wall. Plus, I had a LOT of stuff to hang, and I didn't want it to look like a mess. On another note, I think one of the hallmarks of adulthood is when you stop using sticky tack to hang up artwork on your walls and instead put everything in frames. I guess I'm somewhere in between because as you'll see, some of these are hung using washi tape a.k.a. my one true love. God bless washi tape.
Disclaimer: My room doesn't have great lighting. You've been warned.
This is my anchor. I mean of the wall. But also I guess of my life? I ordered this print from a company called Help Ink. I really like them, because each of their prints is from a different artist, and then when you checkout, you get to choose a charity that they donate to! I've had this one for awhile now, but I still love it.
Ah yes, my felony print. "Felony print?" you ask? Yes. I stole this out of a library book when I was in highschool. I was very hardcore. (Stop laughing.)
This is a photograph taken by J.R. Eyerman of an audience watching the first full length 3D movie in 1952. It's pretty rad.
This is my dad with my favourite of all his wives. (THIS IS A JOKE. HE ONLY HAS ONE.)
So back in 2000, the leaders of our church published this statement about Jesus Christ. It's beautiful, and if you want to read it you can click here. Usually, it comes on a fancy paper using church-official font (that's actually a thing) and everything. But! I found this modern design on a blog called Thinking About Pretty and I LOVE it! The website is down right now so I can't link to it, but google it sometime.
This is actually a photograph that I was given. My great-grandpa Jensen shot it of Chief Mountain in Montana. I love it. The composition is amazing. I wish you could all see it in person.
I needed something to fill this weird-sized space, so I threw an old record up there. The starfish is from my Portland trip two years ago when we went to Cannon Beach.
These four pictures are actually from my instagram feed. I printed them into these polaroid prints using a company called Origrami. I like having physical copies of photographs, and Origrami is one of my favourite ways of printing. They're based out of Australia, but the prices are actually really good and there's free shipping. The top left picture is from when I went to a Japanese dance festival a couple years ago, top right is a Picasso painting in the National Gallery of Ireland, bottom right is a typewriter from the Antiques Mall in Regina, and bottom left is Christchurch Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland.
Art print from the SAAG here in Lethbridge, and a fleur-de-lis I got from Winners a million years ago. It was $2. boom.
This just made me laugh. I saw it on pinterest, and printed out a copy. I know that someone had to make this, but I couldn't find the original source. :( So if you ever see this on the great wide interweb, let me know. I'd like the actual print.
My absolute all-time favourite picture of my Grandma and Grandpa Edwards. They're adorable.
*Sigh* My Newsies shadowbox. I went last summer with my cousin Hallie. It was so good you guys. Basically my dreams were all fulfilled that night. Also we got a couple of the actual newspapers they used which I was okay with.
Annnd that's my wall!
