Sunday Printable: Laying the Foundation
It's my favourite day of the week again! I loved sharing those printable quotes last week, so I've decided that I'm going to make it a weekly tradition. It's probably a much better way to keep the Sabbath Day holy than napping and scrolling through the same 25 Instagram posts. (Guilty.)
This is a scripture found in Doctrine and Covenants (one of the four main books of scripture in our church) 64:33. Each school year I try to pick a scripture as a kind of "theme" to remember or work towards, and this is mine currently. I've actually had this poster printed out and stuck on my wall since September. (I didn't make a new poster this week because right after church today I have cue-to-cue for the university show I'm designing.)
I often find myself really impatient with God's timing. I want to get things done on my timeline. I want to be at the same place in life as all my friends. It wasn't my plan to move to Lethbridge. Or be in the program that I am. And having an undergrad degree take seven years is NOT my idea of a good time. I hate that all my friends are graduated and married and having babies and I'm not. It's really hard sometimes. That's why I felt like this was a good theme for school this year. I like being reminded that it's okay if I'm just plugging along little by little. This is a "laying the foundation" year. One day I'll get where I want to be, and it will be infinitely better than anything I could have planned for myself.
