Hashtag, Pinterest Fail

A few months ago, one of my friends introduced me to someone like this:

"This is Chantelle! She's the most creative person I know. Basically EVERYTHING she touches turns to gold."

I'm flattered that this is what someone might think of me, but I must confess to you, dear reader, that it could not be FARTHER from the truth. Exhibit A:

Last week, I was home by myself one evening. I remembered seeing something on Pinterest that I was intrigued to try. (More on my love-hate relationship with Pinterest later.) Have you guys seen the thing where people put crayons in a glue gun and make art? Well I thought it would be rad if I put a quote down on an old canvas I had, dripped crayon OVER it, and then peeled the stickers off. Good idea in theory, not so good in execution.

What Pinterest failed to tell me was that when you stick a crayon in a glue gun, it's not like a glue stick. The crayons get extremely runny, and if you force them through the gun too hard, they spray just like a liquid. I found this out the hard way. So did my walls. And counter. And back door...
Then the stickers wouldn't really peel off from under all that hard wax. Of course.
AND I RUINED MY GLUE GUN. (Insert annoyed face.)
I was mad. I filed the project under "G", and spent the rest of the night with a spatula and a hair dryer scraping wax off my walls.
