Sad into happy
Now, I could have dealt with having a dentist appointment at 8:00 in the morning. And I could deal with doing grown-up errands all morning. Having an orthodontist appointment right after a dentist appointment is not ideal, but that too could be manageable.
And then the dentist booked a follow-up appointment for this Friday. At the exact time I would be driving through Alsask, Saskatchewan coming home. AND it could not be booked for next week because my dentist was out of town. AND it could not be booked for the week after that, because it can't wait that long. Awesome.
Errands ran smoothly, paperwork was handed in on time, and I figured I could squeeeeeze just one more thing in before my orthodontist appointment at 11:30. Even though the parkade confused me more than it should have, I made it just on time! Or so I thought. The receptionist gave me an exasperated "You're twenty minutes late!"
Wut.
I was positive they had told me to come at 11:30, but apparently they had written me down for 11:10. I had missed my time slot. There were no openings today. Or tomorrow. And the likelihood of a cancellation was extremely remote. And of course all my other appointments have to be so many exact dates after that first one. Which meant I would have to reschedule every single thing. Which meant I would have to miss work. A lot.
So what did I do?
I got some ice cream, drove home, flung myself on the bed, called my mom, and threw a temper tantrum. (Sorry Mom...) And when she hung up, I finished my ice cream and pouted.
My name is Chantelle, and I am four years old.
But this afternoon I had to run get a few things from Walmart, and I picked up an artichoke because they were cheap and I've always secretly wanted to try one! And then I stopped by Value Village to see if I could find a dress for my little sister, and SURPRISE! It was 50% off day! And I found a blue Gap cardigan for $5! It's blue, and I don't have a BLUE cardigan yet! Then I went home and cleaned my room and did laundry. That always calms me down. Then I figured out a way to make photobooth pictures for super cheap. Like, we're talking 66 cents or less a piece instead of 5 dollars at the mall. Win. That made me super happy! And for supper, I made pasta and cooked my artichoke and it was super good!
I'm in a better mood now. And I'll worry about my 7.3 billion mouth appointments later. Tomorrow I'm going home! :)
