Baking Duck

by - 1:09 PM

On the weekend, Heather had a friend over to make cheesecake. While searching for a springform pan, they found a cake mold in the baking cupboard that makes a 3D duck! Heather decided to take it for a test run yesterday. It appeared to have baked thoroughly so she took it out, and set it upright on the dining room table. I was eating lunch, so I watched it while she went to read her book. All of the sudden, raw cake batter started flowing out of the duck's belly, and it started collapsing! I yelled for Heather, who came running in. But it was too late. The duck head (the only part that completely cooked) was floating in a puddle of chocolate innards on the table.

It was very sad.

Luckily, there are still a few months until my birthday, so we can perfect the baking of ducks.
