Autistic Humour

I work with this one client who is literally one of the funniest people I know. They're only 11, but they talk like a 45 year old professor. It's the best. We love listening to music together, and this kid's latest obsession has been rock music. It's not my favourite genre to be honest, but I've been tolerating it for the past couple weeks because it's resulted in my kid delivering comedic zingers like these:
Me: "Ugh, this song is awful! It sounds like they're throwing up into the mic!"
Kid: "I mean, you're not wrong, but I like it. It's a very melodic barf."
*radio ad for Three Day's Grace concert comes on*
Kid: "Ah, this brings me back to my childhood. Circa 2011."
Me: "Haha Three Day's Grace wasn't even popular then! Also, weren't you like, six?"
Kid: "Yes, but I was a very edgy six year old."
The best part is this kid doesn't even realize how funny they are! Autism humour is kind of the best. Here was today's respite quote of the day:
"A fart is just a butt burp."
