A Day in the life of Chantelle (written by Kimmy)
This morning I woke up and had the most scrumptious breakfast (even though I don't remember what I ate.) I then decided to get dressed and ready for church. I went to church with my roommates and enjoyed my time. My favourite part was the lesson we were taught in Sunday School, which said that life is a test.
I learned that the goal of this test is to achieve 100% and get an A+. If I get an A+, I am granted eternal life. Now, most of us get pretty concerned with this daunting task of getting 100% but I learned that this test is open book. Through the scriptures we have access to the answers of the test and this can help us achieve 100%. This started to seem a little easier, but I still wasn't convinced. I was then told that I could have access to a tutor, who if I listen to will guide me to the answers. This refers to the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is there for us and if we listen, we will be guided to do the right thing and to the right answer. Now this was really starting to convince me. Then I learned that I have access to my profs and their peer-reviewed journals. This of course is through the prophets and the Ensign. Wow, I thought. This test is going to be easy. But then one of my friends, mentioned that 100% is still pretty challenging. It seems like a daunting task. I was then told that if I get a question wrong on this test, that it can be corrected if I recognize that it is wrong. Through this I realize the power of Christ and His atonement. Christ can help heal the sick, the wounded and the afflicted. All of our problems and trials will be healed through Christ and his atonement. I was reminded by a good friend today that Christ is there for us at all times. In a song we are singing in choir, we sing 'He ain't heavy, He's my brother.' Christ is our brother, our friend and our redeemer.
After church, I went home and enjoyed in a wondrous meal cooked by my friends, after a brief nap in the living room on top of our mattresses. We had a grand feast of tacos. After this, we went to a senior's center in Lethbridge and sang to Fanny who was turning 95. We sang a large arrangement of hymns and even made her cry. She was so cute and it was awesome. She was so grateful for our kindness and willingness to sing on her birthday. I was super happy to sing to her because she was so appreciative. Afterwards, I came home and we watched the U of C Dinos play in the quarterfinal basketball game on TV. And then the singing (beautiful of course, HAHA) and fun began...and the jokes.
