Bagels

My mind likes to wander. A lot. Earlier this week, I got around to thinking about bagels. Don't ask me why. I have NO idea... But as I was thinking about them, this analogy started to form in the ol' noggin, and I kind of like it so I thought I'd share it with you!

What do you see here?
Right. You see a bagel.
You don't really notice the hole do you?

Too often, we tend to focus on the "holes" in our life, even though there might be "bagels" all around us. That's not to say we should ignore the bad things, because a bagel without a hole is just a really dense biscuit. It's not a bagel without a hole. Our lives are not lives without opposition.

My new mantra for the week has been "Look for the bagels, not the holes". While it seems silly, it actually helps a lot! It's hard to realize just how much you have going for you when the things that aren't so good seem to loom like some huge raincloud. But look at that hole again. It really isn't so big compared to the rest of the bagel. There are always more things to be happy about than not.

Look for the Bagel, not the hole.
