First of all, if you have never met Chantelle, let me tell you, she is not the kind of person to get up and sing in front of people unless it is Music Festival. However this time, she gathered the courage and just went for it.

In all my time of knowing Chantelle, I have never seen her be so brave. Auditions are scary- plain and simple, and for her to do it was an absolutely incredible leap of faith, and I am so glad she did it! Whether she got in or not is irrelevant, but her audition was the first step in a new, more confident, awesome Chantelle. If you know Chantelle then you know how little she used to believe in herself, and also how much this means to her.

However, as I sit, typing before you today, I am pleased, and uber proud to announce the fact that yesterday I had lunch with an incredibly confident, strong young woman who reminds me daily of what it means to be Christ-like. I end all of my own blog posts with “Today I saw God in ___,” and it feels weird not having that, so I am going to take some artistic liberty here:

Today I saw God in Chantelle. In her ability to overcome her fears and just go for something she wanted regardless of what people said or what people thought of her. I saw God in the progress she is making in being confident, and in her unending passion for musicals.
